We loved Angel Locsin as Narda/Darna on TV years ago, but those days are over. We have a new Darna in the person of no other than Ms. Marian Rivera!

According to Pinoy Parazzi, 24 Oras’ Chika Minute news anchor Pia Guanio presented the news report about the surprise of GMA-7′s executives to the lovely actress. Her manager told her that she is going to have a meeting with the executives about her next project with the station. The manager didn’t give her a single clue though.

When she entered the room, there were confetti’s and balloons. A tarp was shown where the text “Marian is Darna!” is posted.

Marian Rivera is excited to her new project and this also serves as a challenge to her. Will she be able to surpass the achievements of Angel Locsin in terms of acting and ratings?
